The Company
With many years experience in the Wedding Photographers industry, Michael Elton Photography provides wedding and portrait photography services to customers throughout the local area. The company is situated in Barnstaple. (North Devon)
Michael has a steady group of customers, situated around Barnstaple and surrounding area. In 2011 Michael provided his first wedding in Europe.
Michael Elton supplies top quality wedding photography, featuring a creative and laid-back style. Tailored to requirements, the style can be adjusted from formal to casual just right for young and older couples.

The company is managed by Michael & his wife Laura who has been involved in the Wedding Photographers trade since 2008.
The Vacancy
We require a reliable assistant throughout the wedding season, May - Oct and beyond (dependant on bookings)
This role may suite someone who is at school or college. Transport from Barnstaple is provided.
You will have a keen interest in photography with a reasonable amount of photographic knowledge. Full training provided.
The position will not initially require you to take photo's, however if you show competence with-in this role you may be asked to take some photos. (Equipment provided)
Initially you will be required to:

ü carry bags

ü Keep equipment clean and stored safely

ü Provide assistance with holding reflectors and off camera flash units

ü Assist with clients

Additional hours may be requested to help run the Party Booth throughout the evening reception.

You must be of a smart appearance. Formal wear must be worn throughout the day. A casual outfit may be worn in the evening for the Party Booth (T-shirt provided)
Most weddings take place on Saturday's however on occasion you may be required to assist on other days.
The right applicant will receive expert tuition in wedding photography, free meals whilst on duty and a Party Booth T-Shirt.
Pay: poa
This role is a self employed position where you will be liable for paying tax. (Where applicable)

Christmas Wedding

Adam & Jo celebrated their marriage at Filleigh Villiage Hall on Christmas Eve.

The snow stayed away this year, so no need to have me rescued!!

Adam & Jo thoughtfully decorated the hall with lots of candles & twinkly fairylights.

They are probably now sitting around a log fire in their honeymoon retreet in Cornwall.

Homecoming Parade

Thousands of local residents turn out to welcome home Chivenor’s Commando Logistic Regiment.

This is the first time I have witnessed such a parade and will admit it does bring a lump to your throat when you can see into the eyes of these brave service men & women. The Commando Logistic Regiment were met by HRH Prince Philip, Armed Forces Minister and North Devon MP Nick Harvey and the Commander General of the Royal Marines.

We can even customise the prints with your messages, logos and graphics to suit your event.

Most photo booths are provided by large corporations who charge in excess of £500 to you. As an independent local professional photographer I don’t charge you a fee, nothing, no small print. The cost is provided by your guests who will pay just £5 per print. These can be printed to take home or emailed in real time.

R&R in Ireland

I'm in Ireland doing some work for 3 weeks. I needed some R & R so took a trip into Dublin City to be a grockle.

I decided to take the open deck tour bus on a 1 1/2 hr trip through new and old Dublin.

On route I decided to get off and have a look around the Guinness Brewery (rude not to) and of course it included a free pint in the Gravity Bar at the top of the brewery. (I'm quite liking the black stuff now)

The locals were all in good spirit after beating the Aussies at rugby, and tomorrow (Sunday) Dublin are in the All-Ireland Gaelic football final, so the hotel is full with many many irish people....makes a change from the yanks!!

Congratulations to Matt & Kay Stevenson

On the 10th Sept I had the honour of capturing Matt & Kay's wedding celebrations.

The weather held out for most of the day, but the rain didn't dampen the celebrations.

Matt & Kay were married at 1pm at St Peter's Church, Tawstock, which is a fine church, so please go along and visit it, it's stunning. The ceremony was followed by a reception with family and friends at Saunton Golf Club, which gave an stunning backdrop.

Phillipa & Gavin (Carrington) Smith

I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding celebrations of Phillpa & Gavin on the 6th Aug 2011.

The day started out a bit wet, but I wasn't going to let a spot of rain ruin the chance of grabbing some memorable photos.

The rain stopped and the sun came out with in minuutes before the bride arrived at Pilton Church.

The ceremony was perfect, such heart felt words said by all.

We made a quick exit upto St Michael's School in Tawstock after the church service to capture some photos. Phillipa is a nursery nurse at the school and wanted some images infront of the large building, and some over looking Bishop Tawton.

The reception took place at the Cedars Hotel, Bickington.

The following day they jetted off to Crete.......lucky sods!! I can say that, I know them both :-)

Modelling Session

Grace Brown Make-Up booked me to photograph some models for her portfolio. Grace wanted to replicate the Black Swan starring Natalie Portman, I hope we did a good job.
The two models were Sian Laughton & Catherine Rendle, who I highly recommend if you need some models.
Catherine also had a session made up as Twiggy.
The girls found it unusual not to smile, however they pulled it off without any problems.
